Anthropogenic problems threatening major cities: Largest surface deformations observed in Hatay, Türkiye based on SBAS-InSAR

I contributed to a research project focused on detecting anthropogenic-induced ground deformations in Hatay, Turkey, using SBAS-InSAR techniques. The study revealed significant surface deformations in urban areas, indicating potential risks to infrastructure and public safety. My role involved processing Sentinel-1 SAR data, generating interferograms, and conducting time-series deformation analysis to quantify land displacement. The project emphasized the importance of remote sensing in monitoring geohazards and urban subsidence in tectonically active and densely populated regions.
